
Touched by the music that was played by the legends in her grandparents supper club, Dori's hope as a musical artist is to reach her audiences with lyrics, music and story that are emotionally relatable.
As a multi-genre singer/songwriter/actor her interest in music started in northwestern Pennsylvania at the ripe old age of four where she became a self-taught pianist. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in music education, Dori taught public school music for 25 years. As a performer, she has been fortunate enough to have appeared on television, regional musical theater stages, cruise ships, and vocal contests. In June of 2016 she was featured as a promising singer/songwriter at the Gloria Gaither Songwriting Intensive Workshop. Her eclectic musical tastes vary from jazz, blues, pop, to inspirational, folk, world and soft rock.
She is currently a member of the Nashville Songwriter's Association International, Minnesota Songwriter's Association and BMI. In the summer of 2013, she finished a collaboration project entitled "A Moment in the Shade." with other musicians from all over the world. In 2015, “Waiting To Breathe, “ a song about domestic violence, was named Song of the Year by the Dallas Songwriter’s Association. Two of Dori’s original songs, “Reaching Out” and “The Mary in my Christmas,” are being featured on “Come Praise the Lord” radio station AM 1620 in San Antonio/Dallas areas. In July of 2017 Dori debuted her one -woman show, “The Art of Letting Go.” All music, lyrics and script were written and produced by Dori. She has been recognized several times by the Nashville Songwriter's Association's by being added to "Ones to Watch" list. Her songs have also been chosen by the NSAI for the monthly Publisher's Luncheon.
Currently, she is writing and learning the art of musical production through various recording techniques. When she is not writing or recording she is performing at private events, open mics and local charity events.
